In over a year of collaboration within the Twinning program, Karazin University and the University of York have jointly developed and implemented a series of significant projects. In particular, a Summer School was held in Greece for students and lecturers of our university for the third time.

From September 3rd to 8th, 2023, 22 students and lecturers from various schools of Karazin University successfully completed the Summer School, which took place in the Greek city of Thessaloniki, the second-largest city in Greece, hosted by the educational institution CITY College – the European campus of the University of York.

The Summer School is a large-scale initiative made possible through the close collaboration of Karazin University and the University of York under the Twinning program, initiated by the Cormack Consultancy Group.

The educational process of the school was focused on Human Rights and PhD Research Skills. The participants had the opportunity to enhance their knowledge and skills through various engaging formats, gain new experience in the protection of human rights, research, and writing of doctoral theses, particularly in different aspects of academic writing, ethics, and academic integrity in research, as well as the search for funding for their projects.

In addition to intensive academic sessions, the Karazin participants were offered an interesting and diverse cultural program that allowed them to explore the history and traditions of Thessaloniki and experience its unique atmosphere. Students and lecturers from Karazin University took part in an informative city tour of Thessaloniki and visited significant historical landmarks, including the Basilica of Saint Demetrius, the Basilica of Saint Sophia, the Archaeological Museum, and the Halkidiki Peninsula. In addition to valuable experience and unforgettable memories, participants of the Summer School received certificates of participation.
